SUMMARY:Fearless Falling Program and Demonstration Presented by Mike Grigsby\, Fearless Falling Program Creator
DESCRIPTION:The “falling epidemic” sends over 60\,000 adults to the ER every week\, and over 400 of them die as a result of their fall. If you are 65 or over\, you have a 1 in 3 chance of having an accidental fall this year. But\, there are positive actions you can take to greatly reduce your chances of serious injury from falling. These involve improving yourself\, your environment\, and your attitude.            \nIn the presentation\, Mike Grigsby\, Fearless Falling program creator\, will teach actual falling techniques by demonstrating how they work on a small gym mat. He will answer questions about falling safely and how to handle different situations. \nIn the last seven years\, Mike has taught hundreds of elders how to fall safely. He regularly teaches Fearless Falling classes at the Whetstone Community Center in Clintonville and at the Worthington Griswold Center\, and is the Head Instructor of the Shuai Chiao Kungfu Club at The Ohio State University. \nThis program is offered as part of the Aging with Intention series\, which is an on-going collaborative effort of the FCC Older Adult Ministry\, the Burkhart Center\, and the C.G. Jung Association of Central Ohio to build community\, to educate\, and to inspire\, focusing on issues that pertain to aging. Registration is encouraged\, but is not essential. This program is offered free of charge. A free-will offering will be invited. Register at www.theburkhartcenter.org/classes

SUMMARY:Celtic Imagination as a Healing Force
DESCRIPTION:Join JACO Board Member\, John P. Schuster\, teacher\, author and frequent traveler to Ireland to understand why Celtic traditions and stories are not just for the Irish. Like all indigenous cultures\, they show us how to stay in touch with the myths that matter and the instincts that make us human. Jung explored this universal layer of the unconscious to help us tap into and heal our ancestral memories. John’s new podcast\, Stories for the Ages: celebrating aging with vitality and purpose\, is a collaborative effort with public radio. This is a Second Saturday program. There is no admission charge although small donations are always welcome.

SUMMARY:Possibilities\, Pilgrimage and Poignancy: The Journey of The Later Life Years - Presented by John Schuster
DESCRIPTION:Many psychologists\, Carl Jung chief among them\, and other professionals like spiritual directors and gerontologists\, have addressed the psychology of the later-life years. The challenges and opportunities of life beyond the career-centric/family-upbringing years are addressed differently by everyone of us\, and there are a host of creative ways to live with vitality and purpose later-in-life. Both the “best” and the “boomer” generations find their journeys laden with new joys and burdens and\, above all\, opportunities for growth and self-expression that could not present themselves in the busyness of the mid-life years. These joys and burdens comprise the pilgrimage possibilities of the later-life years and will be the topic of this presentation.  jung schuster flier\nSCROLL BELOW TO BUY TICKET FOR THIS EVENT

SUMMARY:The Bollingen Lectures (Yearly)
DESCRIPTION:The Bollingen Lecture was named after the “confession of faith in stone\,” as Jung called his tower—the house he built for himself with his own hands at Bollingen. Over the years\, as he would begin to feel that the house was incomplete\, he would add rooms and courtyards and even an upper story. Bollingen was always the place where Jung said he felt most deeply himself. Over 20 years ago Bob and Ann Murtha took a leap of faith when they founded a yet to be formed organization they named The C.G. Jung Association of Central Ohio. Now this has become one of the most respected Jungian-based organizations in the country and brings in outstanding\, internationally known presenters. We are based in a lovely Victorian house in the Short North area of Columbus which also holds our Library\, Bookstore\, our highly regarded Gallery\, as well as offices for several local Jungian analysts. \nWe rely on and deeply appreciate financial support of our valuable mission. Please make a tax-deductible donation\, checks made out to JACO\, and send to: \n59 W. 3rd Ave.\, Columbus\, OH 43201. \nPREVIOUS BOLLINGEN LECTURES \n\n2016: Erik D.
