SUMMARY:SATURDAY CONVERSATIONS: ME & MY SHADOW
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, July 11\, 2026\, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm\n \n1320 Cambridge Blvd [First Community building]\, Library [up the stairs\, down the hall\, on the left] Columbus\, OH 43212\n \nIn Person Only \nSaturday Conversation is always free but it helps immensely if you register so we can plan accordingly. Please scroll below to RSVP. \nWhat private thoughts/feelings embarrass you? What do you secretly wish you could say but believe you cannot? Who appears in your dreams and contradicts your waking self-image? \nShadow seems to be everything we don’t want to know about ourselves and have thus conveniently ‘forgotten’ through denial and repression. But\, without a shadow\, we are incomplete. So please join us for conversation\, coffee\, and company on this most interesting topic. \n

SUMMARY:Make Room: An Archetypal Collage Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, July 26\, 2026\n1:00 pm-4:00 pm \n1550 Old Henderson Road\, Conference Room [entrance at back of building] Cols\, OH 43220\nIn Person Only \nScroll below to register. \nJoin artist and JACO Board member Alissa Ohashi on July 26th  for a focused three-hour exploration of the Make Room process\, where image\, symbol\, and intuition become pathways to self-discovery. Synchronistically\, July 26 is also C.G. Jung’s birthday. We’ll celebrate his enduring legacy by engaging one of the practices at the heart of his work: listening to the psyche through image\, symbol\, and creative expression. Drawing from depth psychology and the creative practice of collage\, this workshop invites participants to engage with images in a way that de-centers the analytical mind and opens a dialogue with the deeper layers of the psyche. Through cutting\, layering\,\narranging\, and assembling found images\, we’ll explore what emerges when we follow curiosity and allow symbols to guide the way. No artistic experience is necessary; only a willingness to explore\, experiment\, and\ncreate. Collage offers a unique opportunity to discover unexpected connections\,uncover personal meaning\, and give form to what may be seeking expression. Whether you’re interested in Jungian psychology\, creative practice\, or simply spending an afternoon immersed in images and imagination\, this workshop offers a welcoming space for reflection\, insight\, and discovery. Come make room for what wants to emerge. \nAlissa Ohashi is an interdisciplinary artist and facilitator working across photography\, collage\, sculpture\, performance\, and installation. Her practice explores the relationship between individual parts and the emergent whole\, engages with processes of integration and transformation\, and considers identity\, memory\, and their role within collective meaning-making. In addition to her studio practice\, Ohashi facilitates workshops at the intersection of art\, psychology\, and esoteric traditions\, creating spaces for embodied inquiry\, imaginal engagement\, and psychic exploration. She has recently served as Arts in the Parks Coordinator with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Ohio Arts Council\, where she developed statewide public art programming\, and currently serves as a member of the board for the Jung Association of Central Ohio. Ohashi holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbus College of Art & Design and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Strategic Communication from Ohio State University. She recently received a graduate certificate for Depth Psychology in the 21st Century from Pacifica Graduate Institute. She is a 2025 Greater Columbus Arts Council Artist Projects grant recipient and has exhibited her work nationally and internationally.
