He is a coach and mentor to business and non-profit leaders with an MA in literature and an MA in psychology from Saybrook University’s Jungian studies program. He is an author and produced a podcast about aging with intention called “Stories for the Ages” on NPR. \nJohn’s program will present an overview of some significant recent research on spirituality\, neuro-science\, nature\, and meditation. It is designed to assist us in (a) understanding the 4 levels of meditation; (b) reviewing brain research related to meditation; and (c) helping us to better appreciate the practices and approaches of meditation. John considers the program a “Western scientific step to knitting [the split between spirit and matter] by looking at what happens in our brains as the basis for consciousness shifts when we regularly engage some form of Eastern/Western or indigenous spiritual or mindful practice.” \n
