What a great way to start off the New Year.  Mike Schaefer introduces the book he wants to explore this way—As our world seems awash in shallowness, heaviness, and dissociation, we often struggle to find ways to respond when things become so one-sided.  Something is missing, hidden in the shadows cast by the prevalent forces at work.  This year, JACO will be exploring the notion of deep playful engagement.  This may be the balm we need to heal this lopsidedness.  In this spirit, our next book club selection is Erin Morgenstern’s “The Night Circus”; a book that is both playful and deep and a wonderful catalyst for engagement for a community like ours.
