“My speech is imperfect. Not because I want to shine with words, but out of the impossibility of finding those words, I speak in images. With nothing else to express the words from the depths.”        ~Carl Jung, “The Red Book”

Before we thought in words, we perceived our reality in images.  Whether in dreams, fantasy, or art making, we image-ine our worlds and ourselves through images.  Images hint and reveal the archetypal themes guiding our lives.  In art therapy, images guide our conscious mind to attune with the inner workings of the unfolding of the Self.

Maggi will discuss how images give us clues to the archetypal workings in our lives through dreams and art therapy.  They will lead us in an art therapy exercise for engaging in dialog with your own images.

Materials needed:  paper and drawing materials (may be pen, pencil, highlighters, markers, etc.) No artistic talent necessary!

Maggi Colwell is an art therapist in private practice in Columbus.  They offer art therapy, dream groups, and dream pattern
analysis.  https://columbusarttherapy.com. They have a MS in art therapy from Florida State University and a masters level dream pattern analysis certificate from the Assisi Institute.
