Major Spring and Autumn Programs
Every spring we hold the Bauza Lecture, and every fall we hold the Bollingen Conference. The Bauza Lecture is generally a half-day program and has included such topics as the use of psychotropic drugs in therapy, dark religion, and madness and creativity. The Bollingen Conference is a full-day and has included such topics as dreamwork and Jung, alchemy, and individuation. We have established, well—respected Jungian lecturers, and the programs almost always include continuing education units.
The Bauza lecture is named in honor of Claire Hagan Bauza, a founding member of JACO. The Bollingen Conference is named in honor of Carl Jung’s beloved tower retreat that he built.
Check out past lectures to learn more about us.

Other Programs
In addition to our Bauza Lecture and Bollingen Conference, we offer a number of other programs during the year. These programs range from in person only, Zoom only, and a hybrid of the two. Our speakers are drawn from our amazing Jungian community and cover a wide-range of topics based upon the interests of our members.

Saturday Conversations
Saturday Conversations (Second Saturdays) was a staple of JACO pre-Covid. Post-Covid saw lots of changes including moving out of our JungHaus on Third Street and moving into new quarters on Cambridge Boulevard. It also took time for people to feel comfortable coming back out and getting together. We started back in 2025 although not on quite the same schedule.
Now, we try to get together every other month on a Saturday that fits different schedules depending upon what is going on in our community. But a few things remain the same: It is always from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm EST; it is always in person (we alternate between 2 locations), it is always free and open to members and non-members alike (with donations always appreciated), we always have coffee/tea and snacks, and it is always a great conversation.
So be sure to get on our email list for our newsletter and check our website for our next get-together where we have informal discussions exploring the concepts of Carl Jung and the many people who have helped guide us on our journey of self-exploration.

JACO Book Club
The Book Club takes as its center the collected works of Carl Jung and radiates outward to the writers who inhabited, extended, and sometimes contested his vision (and who continue to do so today). Readings trace the lines of thought that connect the structure of the psyche to the larger patterns of human culture and meaning. Participants come prepared to engage with fascinating texts and the ideas they provoke. We generally do 3 books a year—taking a break during the summer. We meet every other Sunday from 4:00 pm-5:30 pm EST for the duration of the book. To make access easier, we meet by Zoom only. Book Club is always free to members and non-members alike (although donations are always appreciated).

Jungian Clinical Seminar
The Jungian Clinical Seminar is an ongoing educational program for mental health professionals interested in exploring the theory and practice of analytical psychology in a clinically relevant and collegial setting. Designed for clinicians at all levels of experience, the seminar examines foundational and advanced Jungian concepts—including persona, shadow, ego and archetypal complexes, anima and animus, dreams, transference, and the individuation process—as they emerge in therapeutic work. Readings are assigned between sessions and serve as a springboard for discussion, clarification, and clinical application.
Meeting every other week during the fall season, the seminar consists of seven sessions that combine brief presentations with open discussion and case-based reflection. Participants are encouraged to engage actively with the material, share clinical observations, and, when appropriate, present anonymized case material for group consideration. Particular emphasis is placed on the relational dimension of psychotherapy and the collaborative nature of the analytic process, viewing therapist and patient as fellow travelers engaged in the unfolding discovery of meaning and psychological development.
The atmosphere of the seminar is supportive, thoughtful, and participatory. While each session is guided by a planned topic and reading assignment, discussion is allowed to develop organically in response to the interests, questions, and experiences of participants. The goal is not only to deepen understanding of Jungian psychology but also to foster professional growth, mutual encouragement, and renewed inspiration for clinical practice.
