We are very excited about our upcoming Bollingen Conference. Our speaker is Jennifer Leigh Selig. She has a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. At Pacifica, she was the founding chair of the Master’s degree program in engaged humanities and the creative life and a Ph.D. program in Jungian and Archetypal Studies. She is a lifelong educator with nearly four decades of classroom experience.

As stated by Jung, “Meaning makes a great many things endurable- perhaps everything.” Her presentation introduces seven mythic stages that often shape our descent into the “dark night of the soul” including the often overlooked final stage, “the gifts of the underworld.” Following the morning lecture, Dr. Selig will offer a practical model for going through these difficult passages whether as a therapist/coach/spiritual director supporting others or as an individual working through their own issues. Each participant will create a timeline of their lives and map their underworld journeys onto it.  Choosing one of those journeys, participants will write about their own experiences at each of the seven mythic stages introduced in the lecture. By taking this journey, participants may discover recurring patterns and unexpected connections – and perhaps a map for the underworld journeys yet to come.

We will be taking an hour break for lunch. Bring your own (we have a refrigerator where it can be stored) or visit one of the many local establishments close by. We will also have coffee/tea and snacks. Although you can sign up for just one session, the Conference is truly designed for an all-day experience. We hope you will join us.
